Blues and Greens

Greens in all shades from light to dark have been everywhere in the interior design world - especially kitchens. Add coastal blues and this is one of the biggest trends Sherwin Williams is predicting. If you are living in a world of all neutrals, consider throwing in some pillows or a rug in shades of blues and greens and it will give your room an entirely new energy.

Brown Renaissance

After living in a world of cold grays for the past 10 to 15 years, people are craving a cozy, warm living space. We're expecting to see brown EVERYWHERE! But don't think of basic brown, think rich, warm browns, taupes and warm neutrals. These can be mixed with warm grays and charcoals for a super interesting color pallette. Pop of Color

Red is back. Dark, warm reds, bright red and everything in between is being used in pillows and rugs, wallpapers and duvet covers. Use it in small doses with your existing neutrals for a brand new look. Purples, especially darks, are making a comeback too. House Beautiful predicts chartreuse will be big in this coming year. Ummm, no. Although, I think yellows are gaining in popularity and look great on front doors and accessories. But who am I to argue with House Beautiful?!

Deeps and Darks

We started seeing the dark, moody trend a year or so ago. Dark walls, dark cabinets, also called Dark Academia is making it's mark in bedrooms, living rooms and libraries. While I personally love it, this design is not for everyone. Do you prefer dark and cozy or light and bright? Do you live in a sunny part of the country or near the North Pole? These things make a difference. If you want to dip a toe in this trend, try using dark paint or wallpaper in a powder bath. These small rooms are only used for short periods of time, so they are the perfect rooms to make a statement.

Midtones

We've lived with all creams and whites for quite a few years now. And moody darks colors have been on the rise for a couple of years. But have you considered mid-tones?

Mid-tones are easy to live with, showing less wear and tear than white but without the commitment to the moody darks we all love. Well I do. I love those moody, dark rooms!

The Future of Interior Color Trends

In a nutshell, 2024 is going to be a year of color-filled adventures in interior design. So, grab your paintbrushes, gather your swatches, and let's paint the town...well, the living room at least! Embrace the colors of 2024 and let your creativity run wild in your very own stylish sanctuary.
